Giving Tuesday: Saydam Properties Group Gives $10K to Local Charities
Tuesday, Dec. 1 is "Giving Tuesday 2015."
Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to supporting our communities through charitable giving.
Saydam Properties Group has just completed its annual donation of $10,000 to charity. This year, we did things a little differently, and spread most of the love to three special organizations. If any of these sound like causes you could be passionate about, we hope you'll dedicate your time or money this holiday season.
The Tree House CAC (Montgomery County, Maryland) — The Tree House Child Assessment
Center focuses on reducing suffering and promoting healing among children who have been victims of abuse and neglect. The organization works across private and public sectors to help children access key professionals, medical care and treatment. You can learn more about The Tree House at TreeHouseMD.org.
Urban Ed (Washington, DC) — Urban Ed’s mission is “to provide District of Columbia children, youth, and adults with technology-driven education, information and skill development for sustained futures.” The organization uses technology to help people develop marketable skills, particularly in the IT field, and helps children with academic enrichment and learning opportunities. Learn more at UrbanEd.org. Sheena will be the Chair of the Board for Urban Ed in 2016.
Generosity Global (Worldwide) — Generosity Global provides aid and resources that improve lives, including improving access to clean drinking water to underserved areas, such as an orphanage in Cameroon, and helping those who are homeless in becoming self-sufficient. More information about this organization is available at GenerosityGlobal.org. Their new site doesn't have a "donate" button, but you can donate to them on their Facebook Page at Facebook.com/AFriendToTheHomeless.
Together, we can make the world a better place!
