Water Projects

SPG helped build Maryland’s first Shower Truck for the homeless, which began providing showers in May 2019. And, we continue to fund clean water projects abroad through Charity: Water.

Beacon House DC

Headquartered in Northeast DC, Beacon House’s mission is to provide children in the Edgewood neighborhood of Northeast DC with afterschool tutoring and athletics in a safe, positive environment.

Saydam Properties Group is a major contributor - donating with each transaction, and having contributed over $30,000 since 2021.

I remember standing beside our shower truck in Baltimore when a man in line shared something I have never forgotten. He told me he wasn’t sure he would make it through the night, but he held on because he knew the shower truck was coming.

In that moment, I understood that our work reached far beyond showers.

I grew up the daughter of an Army soldier who put his country first, and a mother who served alongside him, organizing pop-up volunteer events wherever the military took our family.

That upbringing was the privilege of a lifetime.

It taught us that service was never something we would schedule our lives around; it would be the shape of our lives.

When I moved from the nonprofit world into real estate, I knew impact would never be something we did on the side. It would be one of the reasons we exist.

We believe a business must exist for more than profit.

We have spent our careers helping people find home, and we have come to understand that home is more than a place. It is safety, opportunity, and belonging, and too many people, here and around the world, live without them.

From 2018 to 2023, the shower truck honored the dignity of neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We honor that same dignity across sub-Saharan Africa, where more than a dozen of our clean water projects serve villages and a hospital in Cameroon.

For more than a decade, we have invested in the promise of DC’s young people through Beacon House, and that same commitment to education led us to help open a school for girls in Kisii, Kenya, and to support vocational programs at Kakuma Refugee Camp.

The belonging Comfort Cases offers children in foster care is the same belonging we hope every family feels when they turn the key to a new home.

That thread runs through tens of thousands of dollars in food, shelter, and mental healthcare for veterans, a cause that will always be personal to us.

It runs through shelter for LGBTQ+ youth and more than $25,000 for a DC health clinic that cares for patients regardless of immigration status.

And it runs through the gifts that happen behind the scenes: a hearing aid, a family’s funeral expenses, help after a house fire, and support for single mothers at the holidays.

In 2025, our lifetime giving exceeded $1 million, and none of it was ours alone.

Every home sold, every home purchased, and every referral reaches beyond the closing table, easing a burden or opening a door for someone, somewhere.

The work ahead carries that same spirit, from vocational programs for women in Kakuma Refugee Camp to ameliorating homelessness in our region.

We would be honored to have you alongside us.

With heartfelt gratitude,
